A small daily film game

One frame.
Three guesses.

Every day, FrameGuessr picks one movie or TV show. The image starts blurred; wrong guesses reveal more of it. There are audio clues if your eyes need a hand.

How a round works

  1. 01

    Look

The first frame is heavily blurred. You also get a very short piece of audio.

  2. 02

    Guess

Search for a movie or series. A wrong answer clears some of the blur and reveals another clue.

  3. 03

    Finish

You have three guesses. After the round, the title and credits are shown.

Why blur the frame?

A clean still can give the answer away in a second. Blur turns colour, composition, costumes, and sound into the clues. Each miss makes the image a little less mysterious without swapping in a completely different shot.

Who made it

Strahil Peykov built FrameGuessr. His girlfriend, Ally, supplied the idea that got it started.

Movie data comes from TMDB. Audio previews come from Deezer. If something is broken, a title is missing, or you want to say hello, write to frameguessr@gmail.com.
